Fall Fun

Last weekend we went with our friends to Post Family Farm. The kids had fun riding the pumpkin train, feeding the animals, going on a hayride and riding a horse. My favorite part was the pumpkin donuts. They're SO good. If you haven't tried them, it's worth a trip out to Hudsonville to buy a dozen!

Then last night we took some time to carve our pumpkins. The kids had a riot!

Also, an update on all of every one's prayers for the Ver Beek family. All I can say is, "WOW!" Our God still does miracles!!! Samantha is doing very well. She's completely off her ventilator and they're weaning her off the feeding tube. She's eating on her own, making dirty diapers, opening her eyes. She's making incredible improvements. The doctors and nurses are amazed! (How Great is our God!). Samantha is not out of the woods yet and still needs lots of prayers. She could be at De Vos for awhile yet as they continue to run tests and try to determine the extent (if any) of the brain damage. So please keep praying for more miracles! But to think that last Wednesday Samantha went to heaven (they had to resuscitate her after birth) and now she's here and doing so well. All I can say is "Praise God!" He sure must have a special plan for this child! Thank you for your continued prayers!

Yeseterday I went to the funeral for my friend's mother (Lynn Bender's mom). She was diagnosed with cancer only 4 weeks ago. It was a beautiful service and testimony for her love for Jesus and love for music. It just made me realize how hard it must be to have to say goodbye to your parents and how very thankful I am for my parents and the influence they've had on my life. Love you Mom and Dad!
