Things are going well with the Sluiter 5. We're keeping busy with youth group retreats, swimming in the pool, and now getting ready for Special Needs SERVE which starts up tomorrow night. I am part of the Spiritual Life Team, and really looking forward to a great week of worship & serving with some great students and leaders! Noah got a buzz cut (thanks Aunt Mardi) and it looks so cute; definitely cooler for the summer! It's hard to believe at the end of the month he'll be 2!!! We're still working on getting him to talk. He sure tries hard and is making more & more sounds, but not too many real words. Eating is also still a challenge for Noah. For one thing, he's a picky eater. Also (according to the speak pathologist), his muscles in his tongue and mouth are very underdeveloped, so he doesn't know how to move food around his mouth. We've been working with him on a bunch of activities and exercises to practice and strengthen those muscles. Please join us in praying that he can keep improving in his eating and speaking.
Rylee had her 1/2 birthday, so she's feeling much older now that she's 3 and a HALF. Her prayers lately have been very sweet and "interesting." She prayed for Noah not to have any cavities at the dentist (Noah hasn't been to the dentist, nor have we been talking about it), and she prayed for our toilet not to be plunged (which hasn't happened or been talked about either)...very random! That's Rylee!
Anna is practicing for soccer, which she starts in the fall. She's been having a lot of fun being goalie and is actually pretty good. It will sure be fun watching her play with the team (co-ed Kindergarten); I'm sure there will be much more interesting things in the field than the ball!
Brent and I are doing well. Next week will be our 13th wedding anniversary! Wow, we're old! :) I'm so thankful for a loving, faithful husband and a great marriage and family!
Hope you all are doing well and enjoying your summer. Even though life is busy & crazy, we're learning to slow down and enjoy each moment. There are so many opportunities and reasons to worship our Awesome God! This is my life prayer:
"Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:1-2

Yeah... a first haircut!! Those are always traumatic for Hudson, it sounds like Noah did okay??!! Maybe Anna will be on a team with Austin this fall, that would be fun:)
Buddy, you are suck an encouragement to me. You began in me the challenge to just "keep it simple". There are many things that I am so guilty of as well, murder, overlooking others needs that might be a stretch for me to reach. I love your honest heart. I PRAISE GOD for your honesty in my life. I am looking forward to spending the evenings with you this week.
Just remember we do awkward things TOGETHER!!!!!
