Breakthroughs!

This has been a week of breakthroughs. It started last weekend when we discovered water along the wall in the girls' room. So, we had to break through the wall to figure out what was going on. Brent's also been doing a lot of work outside in the window well to fix the drainage so we don't have any more flooding. Thankfully, it's not nearly as bad as it could have been, but it's going to be quite a big project to put back together (We'll need new carpet, new drywall, new paint, etc.) In the meantime, the girls have been having fun sleeping out in the basement living room.

We also seem to have some significant breakthroughs with the kids this week. Monday Noah had tubes put in his ears... a very quick and simple surgery. He immediately was hearing better (he said as we were leaving the hospital: "wiwy woud." (really loud). His teacher and we have noticed an improvement in his speech already, too! Also, I have no idea if this is related or not, but his face is less "snotty"... his nose isn't dripping as much and he just seems to feel a lot better. Yeah! Also, he's been going pee and poop on the potty! This morning he told me he had to go poop right as the bus was pulling up, so the bus driver had to wait. But he did it! I'm so excited!

Also, going to school has been getting a bit better... slowly but surely... each day for Anna. Wednesday she came home and actually said she liked school! She had 3 days in a row where she didn't cry or complain about going. This is huge! And we took her "worry box" down and she took out & destroyed 2 of the worries she had written. Huge breakthrough! Of course, last night she woke up with a fever and bark-y cough, so I had to keep her home today. She was actually disappointed that she couldn't go to school today (at least so she says. We'll see how Monday goes!).

And I can't end without a funny Rylee story. Grandma had the kids here the other day and they were taking care of the dog. Rylee explained to Grandma that Dexter needed to be tied up because he wanders a lot. "He's very wanderful," she said. :)
